What it's like
This is a proper shade tree — fifteen metres eventually, and quickly. The autumn colour is unusual: a deep wine-purple rather than the orange most trees give you. Give it space and don't plant it near a drain. On a hot February afternoon you'll be very glad it's there.
Getting it established
Needs room. Keep it 8 m from buildings and 10 m from any drainage line.
Potted stock travels upright in a purpose-built carton with the rootball wrapped. Bare-root trees are lifted the week they ship, roots packed in damp shavings. Either way, get it in the ground within a week of arrival.
You've got twelve months. If it was planted the way we suggested and it hasn't come away, send us a photo and we'll replace it on the next run.
Ten or more of one line gets trade pricing without an account. Tell us the site and we'll check the spacing with you before you order.
