Sheffield · Northern Tasmania
Already met a Tasmanian winter.
Trees, hedging, natives and fruit propagated here and hardened off outdoors at 380 metres, under Mount Roland. Nothing is pushed to size with heat, so what you plant is already acclimatised.

Why natives
Plant it,
and they come.
A banksia in flower through winter will bring wattlebirds and honeyeaters into a garden within a season. A dense native shrub gives the small birds somewhere safe to sit. It happens faster than most people expect.
Ask us what you're hoping to see and we'll tell you what to plant for it. That part is free.

Three questions. Most planting that doesn't work out comes down to a plant being somewhere it was never going to be happy, so let's start there.
How we grow
Slow is the
whole idea.
A tree pushed along with heat and feed puts on soft growth that looks impressive in the pot and struggles the moment it hits open ground. We'd rather sell you a smaller tree that's actually ready.
So once it's hardened off our stock stays outside, gets cut back when it needs it, and takes the time it takes. Roots are checked and corrected before potting on. A circling root in a young tree is a problem you inherit twenty years later.

How to plant a tree so it lives
The hole matters more than anything you put in it. Six minutes, and it'll save you a tree.

Why bare-root is worth the wait
Cheaper, lighter, faster to establish. The catch is that it only happens for three months.
