What it's like
If you want one tree to do a lot of work, this is usually it. It holds a tight upright shape on its own, so you can plant it four metres off a fence line and forget about it. White blossom in early spring, glossy green all summer, then six weeks of burgundy and copper that runs well into June. Handles wind, handles clay, handles being ignored.
Getting it established
Water deeply once a week for the first two summers. After that it's on its own.
Potted stock travels upright in a purpose-built carton with the rootball wrapped. Bare-root trees are lifted the week they ship, roots packed in damp shavings. Either way, get it in the ground within a week of arrival.
You've got twelve months. If it was planted the way we suggested and it hasn't come away, send us a photo and we'll replace it on the next run.
Ten or more of one line gets trade pricing without an account. Tell us the site and we'll check the spacing with you before you order.
