Good for
What it's like
Our own waratah — smaller and darker-flowered than the New South Wales one, and much better suited to a Tasmanian garden. It grows naturally in wet forest and on mountain slopes, so it wants shelter, acid soil, good drainage and cool roots. Get those four things right and it will flower for decades.
Getting it established
Acid soil, dappled light, thick mulch. Never let it bake and never let it sit wet.
Potted stock travels upright in a purpose-built carton with the rootball wrapped. Bare-root trees are lifted the week they ship, roots packed in damp shavings. Either way, get it in the ground within a week of arrival.
You've got twelve months. If it was planted the way we suggested and it hasn't come away, send us a photo and we'll replace it on the next run.
Ten or more of one line gets trade pricing without an account. Tell us the site and we'll check the spacing with you before you order.
