What it's like
Griselinia is what you plant when the wind comes straight off the water. The leaves are thick and leathery, a bright fresh green that lifts a grey day, and salt spray does nothing to it. It also makes an excellent informal shelter belt if you'd rather not clip. Frost-tender only when very young.
Getting it established
Protect the first winter in a frost hollow. After that it's bulletproof.
Potted stock travels upright in a purpose-built carton with the rootball wrapped. Bare-root trees are lifted the week they ship, roots packed in damp shavings. Either way, get it in the ground within a week of arrival.
You've got twelve months. If it was planted the way we suggested and it hasn't come away, send us a photo and we'll replace it on the next run.
Ten or more of one line gets trade pricing without an account. Tell us the site and we'll check the spacing with you before you order.
