What it's like
Screenmaster grows upright and stays narrow without much help, so it's ideal along a boundary where you've only got a metre to play with. Apple-green wavy-edged leaves on black stems, and it puts on close to a metre a year once established. Give it good drainage — that's the only thing it insists on.
Getting it established
Plant at 80 cm–1 m. Tip prune from the start so it thickens at the base.
Potted stock travels upright in a purpose-built carton with the rootball wrapped. Bare-root trees are lifted the week they ship, roots packed in damp shavings. Either way, get it in the ground within a week of arrival.
You've got twelve months. If it was planted the way we suggested and it hasn't come away, send us a photo and we'll replace it on the next run.
Ten or more of one line gets trade pricing without an account. Tell us the site and we'll check the spacing with you before you order.
