Good for
What it's like
Manuka is a pioneer — it will colonise poor, disturbed, boggy or windswept ground and hold it while everything else establishes. Fine grey-green foliage, a haze of white flower in spring, and a very good bee plant. It's short-lived by tree standards, twenty or thirty years, by which time whatever you planted beside it has taken over.
Getting it established
Almost nothing required. Tip prune after flowering if you want it denser.
Potted stock travels upright in a purpose-built carton with the rootball wrapped. Bare-root trees are lifted the week they ship, roots packed in damp shavings. Either way, get it in the ground within a week of arrival.
You've got twelve months. If it was planted the way we suggested and it hasn't come away, send us a photo and we'll replace it on the next run.
Ten or more of one line gets trade pricing without an account. Tell us the site and we'll check the spacing with you before you order.
