What it's like
Snow Gum handles frost, snow and wind better than almost anything else we grow, and the mature bark — cream, olive, grey, sometimes a pink flush — is one of the great sights of the Tasmanian highlands. Ours are grown from seed collected on the plateau, so they're already suited to a cold, exposed site. Give it full sun and lean soil.
Getting it established
Plant small. Tube stock establishes far better than an advanced tree with a eucalypt.
Potted stock travels upright in a purpose-built carton with the rootball wrapped. Bare-root trees are lifted the week they ship, roots packed in damp shavings. Either way, get it in the ground within a week of arrival.
You've got twelve months. If it was planted the way we suggested and it hasn't come away, send us a photo and we'll replace it on the next run.
Ten or more of one line gets trade pricing without an account. Tell us the site and we'll check the spacing with you before you order.
